Abstract

1276787 Vehicle lamps DOMINION AUTO ACCESSORIES Ltd 8 April 1970 [17 April 1969] 16782/70 Heading F4R [Also in Division H2] The housing 10 of a vehicle clearance lamp contains a bulb socket 16, 26 and a resilient terminal 44 one end 48 of which is adapted to engage the central contact of the bulb, the terminal having a cylindrical portion 46 adapted to fit over a split pin 24 which projects from the housing adjacent the socket and a further end 50 adapted to bear against a part 23 of the housing to urge the end 48 towards the bulb. The bared end of a wire 65 is lodged in the split in the pin 24 and is crimped by the cylindrical portion 46 of the terminal. The socket is of two-part construction, the lower portion 16 being integral with the housing and the upper portion 26 being a metal strap which fits over protuberances 42 on the lower portion and is connected to the bared end 38 of a wire 40. The housing, socket portion 16, and split pin 24 are preferably moulded as a single unit.
