Abstract

1,080,925. Lampholders; terminals. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Sept. 29, 1964 [Oct. 1, 1963], No. 39618/64. Heading H2E. A lampholder for one end of a double-ended lamp has an insulating housing formed of two interlocking parts 18, 19 secured rigidly together by a rivet 20. The holders shown are for receiving single-pin lamp caps, and the holder for one end of the lamp, Fig. 3 and Fig. 6 (not shown), has a plunger 17 loaded by a spring 32 acting on a contact washer 35 engaged by the pin. The spring is located on a boss 33 and engages ears (51 and 50) of a conducting strip (45) held in the body part 19 by its own resilience and by the other part 18, and having an end adapted to engage and lock a conductor passed through an aperture (42). The holder for the other end of the lamp, Fig. 12 (not shown), contains two contact strips (57, 58) for engaging opposite sides of the lamp pin.
