Abstract

1342719 Bulb holders BUTLERS Ltd 9 Aug 1971 [25 Aug 1970] 40861/70 Heading H2E A bulb holder which may form part of a lamp having a reflector 11 and a lens 12 comprises a cylindrical metal sleeve 13 having an inner shoulder 16 against which a metal flange 17 carried by the bulb cap is pressed by the action of two resilient metal contact members 26, 27 carried by an insulating plate 22, against end contacts of the bulb. The insulating plate is hinged about fulcrum part 19 formed integrally with the sleeve and the plate is held with the contact members 26, 27 against the bulb by mating a socket type connector (28, Fig. 3, not shown) with a blade terminal 21 formed integrally with sleeve 13 and which projects through a hole in the insulating plate in the operative position, the connector preventing the blade 21 from leaving the aperture. The bulb may be of the two filament type, one end of each filament being connected to the metal flange 17 and thence to a lead carried by connector (28), and the other end of each being connected to respective end contacts of the bulb and thence via contact members 26, 27 and socket portions 30, 31 formed integrally therewith to connecting leads. Contact members 26, 27 may be of phosphor bronze.
