Abstract

1294494 Lampcaps and holders DUPREE Inc 23 June 1970 30426/70 Heading H2E A lamp comprises a glass or plastics bulb 10 secured by cement 24 in a metal shell 20 containing a plastics sleeve 22. A fixed member 26 in the sleeve 22 has one of the bulb terminals 34 soldered in a bore 27 therein, the other bulb terminal 28 being soldered to the metal shell 20 at 32. The member 26 is electrically and mechanically connected to a plunger 46 forming the central lamp contact by a spring 52. Bayonet pins 84 formed on the shell 20 fit in bayonet slots in the corresponding socket which has a metal shell 70 forming the outer contact, the shell being soldered at 80 to a contact plate 76 on the face of a panel 14 in which the socket is mounted. The central socket contact is a member 72 insulated from the shell 70 by an insulator 74, a bore 82 being provided for receiving a conductor. A throwaway filter or lens cap may be used to shield the bulb 16, this being attached to the lamp housing.
