Abstract

652,916. Lamp holders. STUDHOLME, J., and BENJAMIN ELECTRIC, Ltd. Dec. 14, 1948, No. 32297. [Class 38 (i)] A partially rotatable bayonet type lamp holder 1 in an insulating housing 3, preferably mounted in a double-ended lamp fitting of the kind described in Specification 645,226, [Group XI], comprises a resilient contact 8 arranged to earth, by a rubbing contact, the cap of a lamp inserted in the holder either directly or through the metal body of the holder. The contact is preferably made of metal wire bent into U shape with its two arms 9 engaging the cap or the holder body. The contact, of which the arms pass through apertures 11 in the housing 3, is secured thereon by a terminal plate 12 clamping the yoke 10 of the U in a groove in the housing by a screw 13, an earthing lead 15 being connected to the plate. The housing is movably mounted on a plate 4.
