Abstract

546,041. Lamp-holders ; binding-posts. BELLING & CO., Ltd., BELLING, C. R., and HIBBERD, H. M. March 5, 1941, No. 3012. [Class 38 (i)] A lampholder &c. is fitted with spring-pressed plunger terminals so constructed that the spring serves also to secure the supply wire to the terminal by means of a U-shaped member that grips the wire between it and a metal plate associated with the terminal. The plunger d projects through an insulating plate b secured in a metal housing a, and has a double armed extension d<1> passing through a second insulating plate c. The spring e within the plunger d abuts at its lower end against an inverted U-shaped member g whose arms pass through the plate c. The member g can be lifted by pressure on its arms to open a space between it and a metal plate h for the insertion of the supply wire.
