Abstract

802,300. Lamp-holders. UNITED-CARR FASTENER CORPORATION. Oct. 1, 1956 [Oct. 10, 1955], No. 29915/56. Class 38 (1). In order to facilitate the connection by crimping of a lead to a spring plunger lampholder contact 36, the shank 40 of the contact is of such a length that when pushed back against the spring 44, the recessed end 42 of the shank projects from the aperture 22 in the holder 30 that the lead can be connected thereto. The contact 36 is assembled with an insulating washer 34 which is biased against stops 46 in a metal shell 26 held in a rubber or plastic housing 18 by the engagement of tongs 32 with recesses in the housing. Resilient arms 28 are provided on the shell 26 for engagement with an aperture in a panel. Two contact members may be provided in the holder and the metal shell may be eliminated.
