Abstract

858,262. Lamp holders; two-part couplings. UNITED - CARR FASTENER CORPORATION. April 17, 1959 [April 29, 1958], No. 13247/59. Class 38 (1) An electrical contact for a lamp socket comprises a headed eyelet for engaging the base of a lamp and a wire attaching terminal member having a resilient arm secured in the bore of the eyelet by its free end engaging an abutment. As shown, two headed eyelets 34, each with an inwardly directed rib 40, are slidably mounted in an insulating casing 28 in a lamp socket 16, each eyelet being urged outwardly by a spring 36 and having a flared open end to retain it in the casing. A blade terminal disposed within each eyelet has lugs 52 for attachment to a lead wire 54 and a reversely bent portion 46 which flexes on insertion and then snaps into engagement with rib 40, the latter also being engaged by projections 48 on the base of the terminal.
