A lamp-holder as in Specification 802,300 in which the contact 42 has only a short shank 56 to which the conductor 50 is secured and the washer 40 has a tubular extension 42 surrounding the contact which prevents the spring touching the contact. The spring 36 is tapered having the coil of largest diameter at the base of the insulating housing 18.
