Abstract

908,276. Lamp-holders. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. April 21, 1961 [April 28, 1960], No. 14993/60. Class 38 (1). A holder for a discharge lamp incorporates a radio interference suppression capacitor 4 and has an external socket 7 for a starter switch. As shown, the socket is located in the rear wall of the holder and has spring contacts 8 connected in series with one of the lamp pin receiving spring contacts 6c and its terminal, the capacitor 4 being connected across the contacts 8. An earthing spring clip 10 for bearing against a metal cap of the discharge lamp is provided. In a further embodiment (Figs. 3 to 6, not shown) the socket 7 is formed in the top of the lamp-holder.
