Abstract
916,446. Electric generator cycle lamps. LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd., JOSEPH. Oct. 13, 1961 [Oct. 20, 1960], No. 35941/60. Classes 39 (2) and 75 (4). [Also in Group XXXV] A cycle lamp comprises main and auxiliary bulbs 15, 16 connected respectively by a contact 19 to a terminal 21 and by a contact 20 to a switch (not shown), the terminal 21 also being connected through a resistance 22 and rectifier 23 to one pole of a battery 17 whose other pole is connected to the metal housing 10. The bulb 15 is supplied through the terminal 21 by a generator driven by one of the cycle wheels and which simultaneously charges the battery 17. When the cycle is stationary the switch is closed to energize the bulb 16 from the battery 17, the generator and battery also supplying the main and auxiliary bulbs of the cycle rear lamp Fig. 2 (not shown). The battery 17 may comprise sealed nickel-cadmium cells.
