Class 39(2) [Also in Groups XXXV and XXXVI] A pocket lamp adapted to be attached to a key ring comprises a spherical housing 1 containing a bulb 2, switch 3, a battery 6 and a half-wave rectifier 11. Outward movement of the plunger-like switch 3 completes the circuit to illuminate the bulb 2 whilst the rectifier 11 prevents the battery from discharging if the metal member 9 and the housing 1 become accidentally short circuited. The battery 6 can be recharged by placing the housing 1 in a two part plug device 7, 8 so that the member 9 and the housing 1 are in contact with members 15 of the device which are connected by way of resistors 12, 17 to the contacts 13 which are capable of being connected to a source of current.
