Abstract

931,800. Lampholders. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. March 29, 1962 [April 21, 1961], No. 14551/61. Class 38 (1). A lamp holder has spaced projections such as 5 adapated to engage the rim of an opening in a shade 7 or the like extending outwardly from a part 3 of the holder in which is located at least one contact pin 4, part 3 being biased towards the mouth of the holder by means of at least one spring 9 located externally of the holder between projections 5 and a retaining ring 8 engaging the body portion 1 of the holder. As shown, part 3 is slidable in body 1 and there are three projections 5 preferably equiangularly positioned projecting through slots 6 in body 1 and preferably provided with shoulders to locate the shade coaxially on the holder. Contacts 4 are retained in position by pins 13, the upper ends of contacts 4 having terminal screws 14. For seven lampholders one central contact 4 is provided, the screw shell being arranged within the periphery of body 1. Vent holes may be provided at 11.
