Abstract
702,066. Strain-taking devices for flexible leads. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and COLEMAN, A. S. Feb. 20, 1952 [Feb. 22, 1951], No. 4345/51. Class 38 (1) A cord grip for, e.g. lamp holder, comprises clamping and locating washers 7, 8, respectively, between which the leads are bent and gripped. To assemble the lampholder the leads 4 are passed through an end ring 5 and through an aperture 11 in the washer 7 and then connected to terminals (not shown) in the insert 3. The leads fit into notches 18 in the washer 8 spaced further apart than the terminals, and the washer is placed adjacent the insert 3. A clamping ring 6 fitting over the outer casing 2 is then screwed over the ring 5, the two washers thus gripping the leads between them. Projections 14 on the end ring 5 enter notches 17 in the washer 7 and grooves 15 in the insert 3, thus preventing relative rotation between these three members.
