Abstract

669,073. Lamp-holders. ECKO-ENSIGN ELECTRIC, Ltd., and BOO, W. DE. June 23, 1950 [June 24, 1949], No. 16775/49. Class 38 (i). A " direct-entry " type of holder is provided with a slidable spring-loaded, contact-carrying block A having openings H for the direct entry of the lamp-pins at one end to engage the contacts B and a guide-member J with slots I for the passage of the the pins at the other end of the lamp. The block has limited rotational movement in a casing C to allow for want of alignment of the pins at the two ends of the lamp. An earthing strip may be provided on the holder to earth the lamp cap. Two lamp-holders as described are secured to one fitting, one end of the lamp being directly applied to one holder and the springs thereof compressed, whereby the pins of the other end can be passed through slots I into register with the openings H of the other holder, the lamp being then allowed to engage the contacts in the latter.
