586,496. Lamp caps and holders. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Nov. 8, 1944, No. 21922. Convention date, Nov. 8, 1943. [Class 38 (i)] A holder for tubular electric lamps comprises a casing 14 open at one end, a contact assembly including a contact plate in the opening, a spring 36 biasing the plate towards the open end, and stops 37, 38 for limiting outward movement of the plate. The contact plate comprises insulating plates 23, 24 fixed closely together after contacts 30 have been mounted on the plate 23 by passing the lugs 29, 31 through openings 26, 27 and bending them over. The lamp prongs (not shown) engage with the contacts through holes 25. The stops 37, 38 are integral with a spring ring 39 and project through slots 19 in the casing 14. A rib 18 on the casing engaged notches in the plates 23, 24 for correct location.
