Abstract
817,578. Lamp-holders. HUTCHINGS, E. L. Sept. 12, 1957 [June 14, 1956], No. 18478/56. Class 38 (1). A lamp-holder comprises a resilient U-shaped memher A carrying contacts B, C, and held in position in an apertured plate by means of projections E, pressed out from the side-walls of the member and by spring-shaped portions H which bear against the plate. Flanges I are provided near the aperture and are provided with cutaway portions to receive the bayonet studs of a lamp-cap. In another arrangement, a contactcarrying plate of insulating material is held in position by means of springs which are mounted on prongs integral with the U-shaped member. A hole is provided in the U-shaped member for the leads which are soldered to the contacts, Figs. 5-9 (not shown). The U-shaped contactcarrying member may be held resiliently against the apertured plate by springs mounted on studs carried by the plate, the flanges being pressed out from the apertured plate to constitute a lamp-receiving socket of cylindrical form, Figs. 10-14 (not shown).
