Abstract

837,214. Lighting fittings. WALSALL CONDUITS Ltd. Oct. 31, 1957 [Nov. 3, 1956], No. 33603/56. Class 75(4) In a bulkhead lighting fitting comprising a base 10 and a displaceable cover glass 13 the lampholder 21 housing the electrical contacts for the lamp bulb is readily detachably clamped to a support 17 projecting from the base 10 by resilient means such as springs 19, being movable rectilinearly into and out of the clamped position. As shown the support 17 comprises two spaced pillars each with enlarged heads 18 and carrying a helical compression spring 19, the pillars being bridged by an apertured plate 20 slidable along the pillars to compress the springs 19. The lampholder 21'has arms 27'thereon with open ended slots 28 therein to engage over the shanks of the pillars 19 between the plate 20 and the heads 18, the latter being received in recesses 29 in the adjacent face of the arms 27 to lock the lampholder in the clamped position.
