Abstract
690,358. Lamp-holders. VOSSLOH-WERKE GES. May 31,1951 [Oct. 1, 1948], No. 12814/51. Class 38 (i). A holder for a double-ended discharge tube comprises an insulating, e.g. ceramic, base 1 over which snaps a cover 2 provided with two parallel grooves 24 for the insertion of the lamp pins 23 and a transversely-slidable locking-bar 3 adapted to secure the pins in the contactengaging position. The bar 3 has lugs 22 projecting into the grooves 24 and having inclined faces so that the pins, on insertion, slide the bar against a spring 8 which subsequently returns the bar behind the pins. The bar may be moved to release the pins by a handle 25 projecting from the top of the casing. A starter switch 16 may be located in a transverse recess 20 in the holder and connected between one resilient contact 18 and one terminal 14, the other terminal 14 being directly connected by a resilient connection 7 to the other contact 18. Where no switch is provided, the leads are connected to terminals provided at 12. In an alternative construction, a single pin-entry groove 24 is provided.
