Abstract

997,351. Two part couplings. J. PEARSON. Feb. 23, 1962 [Nov. 23, 1960], No. 40215/60. Heading H2E. A holder for a fluorescent lamp starter switch 18 (Fig. 1) comprises a cylindrical body 1 housing spring loaded plunger contact 15, and a detachable sleeve 9 which has a transverse partition 10 having "keyholes" 11 through which the headed contacts 19 of the starter switch connect with the plunger contacts 15. The head of the plunger contacts are wider than the narrow portion of the keyhole, and are positioned as shown in Fig. 2. The plungers slide in conductive members 4 which may have terminals for wiring, or may incorporate a holder for one end of a fluorescent lamp having two-pin contacts at each end (Fig. 5, not shown). The projecting studs 12, 13 (Fig. 2) hold the sleeve 9 on the body 1 against the springs of the plungers. These studs may also locate the holder in the fluorescent lamp fitting (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown).
