Abstract

1473813 Two part couplings PLAYART Ltd 20 Feb 1975 7218/75 Heading H2E Two pins of an electric plug are movable between a first position in which they project perpendicularly from the body and a second position in which they are inclined towards one another. Plates 3, 4 on the inborad end of each pin rest on biasing means 9, 10 and are urged by resilient means 11 of, e.g. nylon into the inclined position. Contact strips 15, 16 connecting the pins to wires 19, 20 are provided and may also be provided by conductive resilient means, see Fig. 4. On insertion into a suitable socket the pins are urged into the aligned position. An alternative resilient means (not illustrated) extends between plates 3 and 4 from a support, similar to the support 12, placed between the pins. A cover for (Figs. 3 and 6, not shown) has internal projections (25, 28, 29 &c.) to retain the resilient means and plates 3, 4, in position on assembly.
