Abstract
627,556. Lamp-holders. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Jan. 17, 1946, No. 1651. Convention date, Jan. 22, 1945. [Class 38 (i)] A holder for a tubular lamp 1 having end contacts 2 comprises a casing 3 provided for the lamp end with a recess 17 away from which is biassed a contact 12 in a casing wall 6 and the lamp end is retained in the recess by a member 18 on which a projection 20 engages a lever-actuating pin 15 to make the contact 12 abut the lamp end contact 2, when the member is moved to lock in the lamp. The member 18 is pivoted at 19 and is retained in its locking position by a spring catch 21. The pin 15 is formed partly of insulation and abuts the end 8 of the lever, the other end of which is connected to the supply by a flex 9 and engages the spring-controlled contact 12 which contains a plunger contact 14 that engages the lamp end contact.
