Abstract

708,468. Two-part couplings. SIHN, W. Jan. 28, 1952 [April 5, 1951; June I, 1951], No. 2220/52. Class 38(1). A plug comprises a moulded insulating plug body 4 (Fig. 1) with an integral plug and pin 5, and contact blades 6, the extension 7 of one of which is passed into the body 4 and clamped by a screw 10 to a lead 9, the free end of the other being fixed in an annular groove 12. The plug body is preferably moulded in one piece by injection moulding. A projection 11 on the pin 5 engages a hole 13 in each blade 6 to locate it in position. In another embodiment (Fig. 6) the casing 2 is dispensed with and the lead is secured by a metal screw 31, with a projection 32 to surround the screw. When an insulating screw is used, the projection is dispensed with Fig. 5 (not shown).
