Abstract

590,028. Binding-posts. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and LANDERS, M. A. B. April 9, 1945, No. 8781. [Class 38 (i)] In a terminal of the type wherein a cable is retained in a hole 3 in a terminal block 2 by a clamping screw 5, severing of the cable by the screw is prevented by means of a U-shaped resilient clamping plate 1, one arm la of which extends along the upper face of the terminal block and has a hole lb therein for the screw 5 so as to retain the clamping plate on the block. The other arm 1c of the clamping plate is radiused and extends axially into the hole 3 so as to lie between the end of the screw 5 and the cable.
