Abstract

751,675. Binding-posts. ARROW ELECTRIC SWITCHES, Ltd. July 5, 1964 [Sept. 17, 1953; June 1, 1954], No. 19590/64. Class 38 (1). A terminal comprises a plate portion 20 and a U-shaped resilient portion 34, one end 36 of which loosely engages portion 20. The terminal is housed in a cavity in an insulating base 10 and the other end 32 of portion 34 is arranged adjacent the plate portion so as to grip a lead wire 40 inserted through an aperture 16 in the base and into a channel in the plate portion. An abutment 18 on the base, formed by an extension of the plate portion, maintains the portion 34 in its operative position. To release the wire a suitable tool is inserted through an aperture 17 or 19 in the base to flex portion 34 away from the wire. Fig. 6 shows a modification for gripping more than one wire wherein the end of the resilient portion is slit to provide tongues 132a, 132b, each gripping a wire against the plate 121.
