Abstract

1,092,197. Lampholders. WALSALL CONDUITS Ltd. April 27, 1966 [April 29, 1965], No. 17988/65. Heading H2E. A spring-loaded plunger contact 26 and a terminal block 31 are mounted in a central bore 23 of an insulating lampholder body 14, so that on insertion of a lamp the plunger 26 is depressed to abut the fixed block 31. A contact socket 16 for retaining a screw-based or bayonet-type lamp is secured in a tubular extension 13 of the body 14 by screws 18a, 20, the screw 20 carrying a terminal screw. The block 31, which also carries a terminal screw, and a metal sleeve 25 in which the plunger 26 is slidably mounted are moulded into or screwed in the bore 23. The body 14 may be mounted by a screw thread 15, or alternatively by a flange, on its outer surface.
