676,278. Lamp-holders. STEINER, E. GASSER-. Oct. 13, 1950 [Jan. 9, 1950], No. 25056/50. Class 38 (i). A holder for a fluorescent lamp comprises a body 7 in which is mounted a cylindrical contact-carrying base 1 provided with guides for the lamp contacts and projecting from the body 7 so that a resilient sealing ring 12 may be compressed thereon and on the lamp tube by a clamping ring 13 screwing on to the body. The base 1 has a keyway 10 which is engaged by a key 11 on the body 7 to position the two parts 1, 7 correctly, and it is fixed to projections 9 in the body by screws 6. An angular extension 14 guides the supply cable to the base and has a sealing gland 15, 16 to prevent moisture passing along the cable sheath or the ingress of explosive gases.
