Abstract

584,720. Lamp caps and holders. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., and HURD, C. F. M. Jan. 24, 1945, No. 1931. [Class 38 (i)] A moisture-proof enclosure for an internally threaded lamp-holder 1, comprises a casing 4 screwed at 5 to a nipple 6 screwed into the holder the assembly being .locked by a nut 7. The casing has a gland ring 8 which compresses a resilient gasket 9 against the lamp 2. An external thread on the nut 7 receives a gland nut 10, which presses a packing on to the T.R.S. conductor 11. When an externallythreaded holder is used, such as one having a cord-grip nipple, the casing 4 may be screwed directly thereon. The casing 4 and gland ring 8 may be of moulded insulating material or weather-resistant metal, and the gasket 9 of asbestos compound or rubber.
