Abstract
369,449. Electric lamp holders. BAGGS, H. G., Ordsal Electrical Works, Salford, Lancashire. April 29, 1931, No. 12606. [Class 39 (ii).] The plunger contacts and terminals of a lamp holder of the bayonetjoint type are secured in position on the insulating base of the holder by forming the plunger casing as a sleeve B, Fig. 5, which passes through the insulating material F, Fig. 3, and is formed at its upper end with internal screw threads to receive a threaded shank on the terminal A, the terminal being formed with a longitudinal groove D which extends across the screw-threads and is adapted to have part of the casing wall pressed or dented therein to prevent separation of the screwed parts. A recess C is provided in the insulating base to facilitate the indenting of the periphery of the sleeve. The body of the lamp holder may consist entirely of moulded insulating material, as shown in Fig. 3, or it may be of the type comprising an insulating base enclosed in a metal casing.
