Abstract
532,385. Two-part couplings ; lamp-holders. STONEHOUSE, W. J. P. June 27, 1939, No. 18711. Convention date, June 29, 1938. [Class 38 (i)] A lamp-holder, socket fitting &c. provided with a fuse to limit the current that can be taken from it, has the fuse H mounted on the contact plunger J, Fig. 1, of the lamp-holder &c. B so that it only engages with the supply terminal M when the lamp is inserted. The terminal M is attached to a resilient plunger O and mounted on the usual insulating partition N within the holder. A similar construction is employed with a screw-cap holder, the centre contact being mounted on a sliding rod that carries the fuse and is pressed downwards by a spring. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect.91 comprises also a socket fitting Z, Fig. 3 (Cancelled), the usual body and cover being attached to a base Y by a screw V, and the fuse H being housed in the base and held between a recess formed in the lower end of a socket Z<1> and a block R containing a spring S. A similar arrangement is employed for a socket fitting to receive blade contacts, the spring that presses on the fuse being housed in a hollow rivet that secures one of the clip contacts. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
