Abstract
608,443. Ceiling roses. LISTER, J. R. Feb. 23, 1946, Nos. 5711 and 35098. [Class 38 (i)] A ceiling fitting comprises an insulating plate 1 located above the ceiling and having a tubular depending portion 2 extending through a hole in said ceiling. Supply lead terminals 4, 5 on the plate are connected by conducting rods 6, 7 respectively, extending through the depending portion, to terminals 8, 9 on a plug 10 carrying a cord grip mounted in the lower end of said depending portion, the latter being screw-threaded to receive an insulating cap 13 abutting the lower surface of the ceiling to hold the fitting in place. An insulating cover 11 is provided for the plate 1. In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown), the portion 2 is cylindrical and is formed with passages for the conducting rods. Alternatively, a switch may be mounted on the plate 1, the operating cord therefor passing through the portion 2. The fitting may be modified by the addition of a third conducting rod and terminals and the lower ends of the conducting rods and the portion 2 may be formed as contacts and a bayonet socket respectively to receive a lamp bulb.
