Abstract
562,562. Lamp - holders. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., and WOOD, C. W. Dec. 23, 1942, No. 18232. [Class 38 (i)] The screw socket contact 4 of a lamp-holder is inserted in the insulating body 1 by screwing it into a threaded recess therein, unscrewing of the socket being prevented by a tongue 5 on the socket engaging a ratchet-like surface 6 in the mouth of the recess. The base 9 of the socket carries an insulating washer 8, the central contact 7 mounted on the washer being of V-shape and passing through a slot in the washer, the lower end being secured thereto by a terminal 11. Rivets, one of which is formed as a terminal 12, secure the contact 4 to the washer 8. Instead of screw terminals, hollow rivets may be employed into which the supply leads are soldered. A collar 2 fits into a hole in a mounting member, such as that described in Specification 554,698. Specification 188,235, [Class 39 (ii)], is referred to.
