Abstract

643,343. Holders for discharge tubes. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. Aug. 15, 1947, No. 22689. Convention date, Aug. 17, 1946. [Class 38 (i)] A cylindrical connector socket 1 for a valve pin 13 comprises a base 3 from which extend fingers 4 forming the socket proper 2. A threaded extension 5 projects from the base 3 to secure the connector socket on an apertured support 8. Short projections 7 forming a castellated edge for the base 3 extend at a greater radius opposite to the fingers 4 to provide fulcra, whereby the fingers are forced to tighten on the valve pin when a screw 11 is tightened in the extension 5 against a washer 12 over the support aperture 9. The width of the extension 5 is less than that of the aperture to permit the connector socket to be aligned with the inserted valve pin before tightening the screw 11. The support 8 may carry several connector sockets in a trefoil formation, Fig. 5 (not shown).
