Abstract

1,144,352. Lampholders. PIFCO Ltd. 16 Sept., 1966 [3 Nov., 1965], No. 46498/65. Heading H2E. A bulbholder comprises a threaded electrically conductive casing 1 forming the outer contact for the bulb, a centre contact 4 electrically insulated from the casing by an insulating washer 7, a compression spring 9 between the washer and the base of the casing, and an insulated lead 6 passing through a hole 8 in the base of the casing through the spring and through the insulating washer to the centre contact. The centre contact may comprise a blob of solder or a brass disc. A second insulating washer may be disposed between the spring and the base of the casing. A casing with a hole to accommodate the lead wires may be provided.
