Abstract
971,008. Binding-posts. SIERRACIN CORPORATION. March 29, 1962, No. 12058/62. Heading H2E. A transparent, electrically conductive windscreen 10 (Fig. 1) or the like comprises a pair of transparent face sheets 11, 13 (Fig. 3) with a transparent interlayer 12, the inner side of face sheet 11 having a transparent electrically conductive coating 13a, and a terminal block assembly 20 which consists of a metal insert 26 surrounded on all sides but one by a thermal insulating body 25 mounted in face sheet 13, a lead 40 in electrical contact with the conductive coating 13a being soldered to insert 26. As shown, the means for attaching the external connection to insert 26 comprises a tapped hole 51. Lead 40 is moulded into interlayer 12. In a modification (Fig. 6, not shown), the terminal block assembly 60 (Fig. 1) may consist of two metal inserts in a thermal insulating block, two leads 64 running to a sensing element 65.
