Abstract

1,099,355. Edge connectors for printed circuit boards. PLESSEY-UK Ltd. April 27, 1965 [May 1, 1964], No. 18162/64. Heading H2E. A resilient strip contact 10 in an edge connector for a printed circuit board is supported within housing 1 at three different zones - on one side at 18, and on the other side at 19 and in the passage 14. When a printed circuit board 6 is inserted into the connector, the zone 19 is replaced by the zone of contact 20 of the contact 10 with the printed circuit board. The connector body is provided with a surface 4 which limits the depth of insertion of the board into the connector, and aperture 7 which extends for the full depth of the connector for mounting purposes. An alternative embodiment (Fig. 2, not shown) has two parallel rows of inwardly facing contacts 10.
