Abstract

1455657 Electric connector AMP Inc 28 Jan 1974 [6 Feb 1973] 03771/74 Addition to 1373986 Heading H2E An electrical connector 10 of the kind described in Specification 1,442,339 is provided with an adaptor 124 or 180 whereby leaded circuit boards 126 having two rows of contacts or leadless circuit boards 182 having one row of contacts may be connected to a printed circuit board (22, Figs. 7 and 11, not shown). The adaptor 124 has lugs 178 to secure it to the connector 10 under arches 119 and apertures 166 through which the lugs 142 pass to touch the contacts (14, Fig. 8, not shown) of the connector 10. Slots 170 lie on either side of the contacts. The adapter 180 has lugs 244 to secure it to the connector 10 and latches 240 to hold the circuit board 182 in place. The edges of the circuit board lie under the guides 224 of the adaptor and one side rests against the ribs 234. Holes in the adaptor and connector allow convection cooling.
