Abstract

1,152,765. Electric connector assembly. AMP Inc. 11 Jan., 1968 [24 Jan., 1967], No. 3443/67. Heading H2E. An electric circuit assembly comprises a circuit element 1 with projecting leads 2 bent to grip an insulating support 5, shaped so that the leads are held in channels 6 in the side 7 of the support and a second member comprising an insulated block 22 with conductive -posts 18 constructed so that the first member will engage it with conducting posts 18 contacting the leads 2 in respective channels 6. The contact area of the posts 20 and leads (8) are inclined to assist the wedging action when the parts are engaged. Lugs 24 co-operate with recesses 23 and may be of different sizes at each end of the device to ensure correct orientation when positioning. Direct electrical connections may be made to extensions 19 of the posts 18.
