Abstract

1292543 Two-part couplings F R BONHOMME 3 Feb 1970 [4 Feb 1969] 5125/70 Heading H2E A connector for an insertable printed circuit board comprises a support 28 (Fig. 2) having at least one insulating housing 31 containing a metallic contact member 1 (shown in Fig. 1) which is insertable and removable from either open end of the housing by depressing one tongue such as 6, said contact member having two opposite edges of part 3 which are slightly curved to engage the opposite walls of grooves 35 in the housing. The contact member has contact loops 5, a wiring tail 4 and two opposing tongues 6, 23, between which locates a boss 34 of the housing so preventing accidental withdrawal of said member. Further embodiments have one tongue either having an aperture to receive said boss or a boss attached to or stamped out of said tongue to engage a recess in said housing. The member is preferably formed of phosphor bronze or copper beryllium and may be extracted after depressing a tongue with a tool.
