Abstract

1518909 Two part couplings BUNKER RAMO CORP 23 June 1976 [23 June 1975] 26199/76 Heading H2E The contact 1, Fig. 3a, of a connector has a terminal portion 6 and a spring contact portion 4 in the form of a one-turn spiral having a widened portion 23 at one end of the contact portion 4 so that when the contact is assembled in the housing 16, Fig. 3d, the extent to which the contact portion projects into the channel 18 provided to receive a mating connector, not shown, is limited by engagement of projection 23 with at least one wall of slot 28, Fig. 3b, communicating between channels 17 and 18. Shoulder 3 locates the contact at the end of the channel 17 and sprung detent 5 locks it in place. The contact portion may have a dimple 14 at the point 13 where it makes contact with a mating connector, not shown, which may be a printed circuit board. Two rows of opposed contacts may be provided to mate with a doublesided connector or printed circuit board.
