Abstract

1312033 Fusible cut-outs DORMAN SMITH FUSES Ltd 13 Dec 1971 [27 Jan 1971] 3287/71 Heading H2G An end cap, 11, for a cartridge fuse comprises a cup having inwardly projecting resilient ribs, 16, on its inside surface designed to grip the ceramic tube, 10, of the fuse irrespective of small variations in the dimensions of this tube. The tube may be made of cordierite or alumina. The cup may be made of brass and have a hole, 14, in its end face through which the fusible element passes to be soldered. The fusible element may be of silver or other suitable metal. An outer masking cap, 15, may be provided made of a suitably electrically conducting metal, e.g. tinned copper. The tube 10 may be filled with an insulating material, e.g. sand, held between asbestos plugs.
