Abstract
1301693 Fusible cut-outs SIEMENS AG 18 Feb 1970 [21 Feb 1969] 7874/70 Heading H2G An electrical cut out device (Fig. 1) comprises a fusible member 1 in contact with a heat sink which may be formed by an electrical insulating rod 6 or member of beryllium oxide of high thermal conductivity. The fusible member 1 is situated between end connection points 2, 3 and constitutes a strip-form electrical conductor which narrow points 4 bridged by the thermalconductive meter 6 secured at projections 5. In a modification, the rod 6 may extend with at least one end in contact with one connection point 2, 3 the connection being cooled by contact with a fluid cooled bush-bar (not shown) if necessary. In a multi element device (Fig. 4) the thermal rod (14) is mounted in the centre of the elements 13 being held in thermal contact with the terminal connection 3 by spring 12, the device being surrounded by arc inhibiting sand. The rod 14 may be hollow and contain a fuse condition indicator and the elements 13 may be connected to the rod (not shown).
