Abstract
1,155,766. Fusible cut-outs. BELLING & LEE Ltd. 7 Feb., 1968 [7 Feb., 1967], No. 5814/67. Heading H2G. An electric fuseholder comprises an insulating tubular body member 11 having a closed end, and an insulating cap member 4, said cap carrying a first contact member 5 which releasably engages a first terminal member 17 which extends through the body member 11 and from its closed end, a second terminal member 18 disposed eccentrically in the body member 11 and also extending through the closed end, the contacts members contacting respective end caps 9 of a cartridge fuse 1, spring means 28 to urge the contact members against the fuse 1, and an insulating member 27 disposed so as to insulate the lower fuse cap 9 from the first terminal 17. The first contact 5, has outward flange lugs which engage in a bayonet type manner with first terminal 17 which has a ring portion which internally surrounds the open end of the body member 11. The contact 5 also has a spring 8 which resiliently grips the fuse to enable it to be withdrawn when the cap 4 is withdrawn. Instead of at 28 a spring may be placed in 8. The cap 4 may be fitted with resilient washers 10 and 16 and a lamp to show the state of the circuit and the body may be translucent. The body may be screwthreaded at 15. The terminal members 17, 18 are secured against withdrawal upwards.
