Abstract

1,079,325. Lampholders. AMP Inc. Feb. 23, 1966 [March 5, 1965], No. 7844/66. Heading H2E. A fluorescent lamp holder comprises a resilient plastics housing 1 having two vertical rectangular cavities 9, each containing a U- shaped contact spring 16 arranged so that, when the lamp is received in a tubular support 2 extending from a side face of the housing, the lamp pins pass through aligned apertures (7) (Fig. 2, not shown) and 20 in the housing and contacts to be gripped between opposed arms of the contacts. The contacts 16, which are crimped to the conductors and insulation of leads (19), are retained in the cavities 9 by engaging tongues 21 and shoulders (10) (Fig. 4, not shown). Mounting arms 15 for snap-fitting in a panel aperture extend from opposite sides of the housing 1, and an additional aperture 13 may be provided for a mounting screw.
