Abstract

1,272,357. Lamp holders. AMP INC. 7 Sept., 1970 [8 Oct., 1969], No. 42719/70. Heading H2E An electrical connector for a capless cartridge lamp 12 having loop contacts 11 comprises an insulating base 3 having terminal receiving slots 2, each slot containing an L shaped terminal 4 with ears 10 and shoulders 13 (Fig. 2 not shown). The terminal as retained in the base by snap fitting projections 6 (Fig. 3) into recesses 7 in legs 8 formed on the underside of the base. Walls 19 prevent the terminals being overstressed and electrical connection to the terminals is by wires 17 crimped within the section 16 of the terminal. A reinforcing rib 18 is provided. In a second embodiment the terminals extend beyond the walls 23 a, b (Fig. 4 not shown) to raise the bulb from the base surface.
