Abstract

1469518 Lamps BUTLERS Ltd 13 Sept 1974 [29 Sept 1973] 45653/73 Heading F4R [Also in Division H2] A vehicle lamp assembly comprises an electrically insulating base 10, a bulb holder 11 supported by the base, at least one electrically insulating contact holder 12 disposed adjacent the bulb holder, and at least one electrically conducting contact blade 28 secured in a respective contact holder 12 and having a portion 30 projecting into the bulb holder 11 to contact the bulb. Each contact holder 12, which is preferably integral with the base 10, comprises a pair of upstanding walls 25 defining a recess 26 and an upstanding post 27 in the recess. Each contact blade 28 includes a barbed portion 29 having a pair of spaced apartures 32, the barbed portion being pressed into the recess 26 with the post 27 engaged in one or other of the apertures 32 according to the position of the contacts on the bulb base 15. A bulb cap-engaging contact 21 is mounted on the end of the bulb holder 11 and comprises barbed portions 22 for engagement with recesses 17 in the holder and contact portions 20 seated in recesses 19 in the bore 14 of the holder. The portions 20 have recesses at their free ends to receive the bayonet pins on the lamp cap.
