Abstract

1354799 Lampholders FORD MOTOR CO Ltd 21 Sept 1971 [1 Oct 1970] 43857/71 Heading H2E A lampholder assembly comprises a housing 1 having a bulb socket 2 and a pair of pillars 4 which are formed with grooves 14 for receiving lugs 13 of a connector holder 5 adapted to receive a connector 7 carried by a wire 6. A resilient arm 9 which may be integral with the connector holder is used to urge the connector 7 into contact with the bulb terminal and a side wall 10 of the arm 9 positions the connector laterally with respect to the holder. A tongue 11 on the connector prevents its withdrawal from the holder. The holder is generally of insulating plastics material but the housing and socket may be of plastics material or metal. When the socket is of insulating material the earth connection may be made by an additional connector either in the holder 5 or in a similar additional holder.
