Abstract

The multi lamp housing has a metal stamping which serves as a common earth return for all the bulbs. Connector strips are stamped out of the metal to form the separate power connections to the bulbs, with the strips separated from the earth return. The strips are taken into the socket connector for the cable loom. The socket has a double array of pins (13, 13a) with one array providing the connection to the plug-in lead to the car, while the other array forms a connector for a trailerline. The trailer can thus be attached without any alteration to the car electrical system.
