Abstract

1,012,103. Lamp-holders. S. TILESI. Sept. 11, 1963 [Sept. 25, 1962], No. 35760/63. Heading H2E. [Also in Division B5] A socket for a bulb L, having a spigot T with contact wires C, directly attached to the filament, projecting from the spigot and bent back so that they extend along the spigot, has a body with a stepped cavity 2 and 3, in it to receive the spigot, two slots 3a being provided in the lower part of the cavity on opposite sides of the cavity and extending into it, these slots accommodating flat contact strips 5 for engaging the contact wires of the bulb. The supply leads 7 are moulded into the body 1 so that one end of each projects into the wide part of the cavity 2, which end is stripped of insulation and bent back and trapped between the contact strip 5 and body 1. A plurality of sockets can be moulded on a single wire, as for Christmas decoration lights.
