Abstract

1280881 Two-part couplings CARR FASTENER CO Ltd 13 April 1970 [12 June 1969] 29859/69 Heading H2E A lamp holder for capless lamps comprises a body of resilient semi-rigid plastics material and has a recess for the glass envelope a of the lamp, which is defined by rib 4, arm 6 and base 1, and a recess for the lamp base, which is defined by parts 8, 9 and base 1, both recesses opening on to one side of the holder so that the lamp may be inserted sideways into the holder. Contacts (10, 11 Fig. 4 not shown), engage contacts (c) on the lamp base. When the holder is clipped into an aperture 17 of a housing, tongues 13 engage lug 18 and a hollow boss 14 snaps into a recess 20, contact portions 10a and lla (of contacts 10 and 11) engaging flexible printed circuitry 19 on the lug 18. Rib 4 and arm 6 may be replaced by a metal clip.
